Story Behind The Song
The solo piano piece grew out of the opening ostinato. I structured it to build
from this to the melody played by crossing hands, and then in double octaves, before dying away again to leave the basic ostinato. The title reflects the resulting arch shape and the resulting build-up of 'colour' in the music.
