Story Behind The Song
I had settled on the idea that the key word for Mary had to be 'love.' She had to be someone who could give that abundantly. One day, headed home in the car, I heard something related to the fruit of the spirit. Hmmm, love is the fruit of the spirit, I thought. The next morning, I woke up at 5 AM with this song showing up. I flipped on the bedside light to Jill's question of what was going on. Seeing as it was a Saturday, the concept of sleeping in was a nice thought, but........
"Song" I replied.
And so it was written, although I struggled mightily and with emotion against myself that this offering could in some way be sufficiently worthy of it's recipient.

Lyrics
Pure in heart I offer up my praises
To the God who is my savior
Why a simple girl like me, should find the Lord's great favor
I don't know
But I say, "Yes"
To love
I tremble at receiving this great blessing
An angel said not to be afraid
Mother of a king, who rules o'er all things made
I don't know
But I say, "Yes"
To love
CHORUS
Love is the fruit of the spirit
Pure love is the fruit of my spirit
And the closer I get, and the more I'm near it
(I see) God's love is the fruit of His spirit
Within the kernel of my joy is there great sorrow?
A portion of this plan not told to me?
Some price my boy must pay, to set his people free?
I don't know
But I say, "Yes"
To love
Repeat CHORUS
