1.
I work with a gal who has quite a smile, but that's not the best of her.
When there's a job to be done, she makes it fun; with this I can concur.
When you want something done, Helen's "Number One". She just says,
"I'll do it; I'll do it."
She doesn't twiddle with her thumbs; she doesn't quit until the job is done.
You don't have to beg on your knees; you don't have to say, "Pretty, please."
For any woman or a man, she'll do the best job that she can. She just says,
"I'll do it; I'll do it !"
No matter what the task, all you have to do is ask.
2.
She has two kids named Marvin and Marie. They're both as helpful as can be.
Dad's in there, too, pitchin' in a hand, Oh, what a family !
They help each other out; that's what the world is all about. They all say,
"I'll do it; I'll do it."
They don't care who you are; they'll go out very far,
For any woman or a man, they'll do the best job that they can.
No matter if you're black or white; they treat everyone just right. They just say,
"I'll do it; I'll do it."
No matter what the task, all you have to do is ask.
3.
I hope some day that she'll ask me, I'll be as happy as can be
To help Miss Helen out. I'll jump right up and shout.
I'll go out of my way, when I have to repay. I'll just say,
I'll do it, Helen, I'll do it."
She won't have to sit and wait; won't have to make a special date.
Whenever she asks me, I'll do it willingly.
I'll pay her back in full as in the Golden Rule. I'll just say,
"I'll do it, Helen, I'll do it."
No matter what the task, all she'll have to do is ask.
4.
If every one in the world would lend a helping hand unfurled,
We wouldn't sit around and wait; we wouldn't procrastinate.
We'd get the situation down; we wouldn't sit around and frown. We'd just say,
I'll do it; I'll do it."
No matter what your race, you'd see a smiling face.
We'd help each other out; that's what the world is all about.
What a wonderful life it would be if everyone were like she. We'd all say,
"I'll do it; I'll do it."
No matter what the task, all you'd have to do is ask.
I'll do it; I'll do it; I'll do it; I'll do it; I'll do it; I'll do it; I'll do it; I'll do it; ....
