Story Behind The Song
This song is from a double single EP, "Vintage 70". What inspired it? I was in Canada to record my original songs with Rob Robbins. While he was on tour, I sat outside and noticed in the distance a beautiful tall old tree just gently swaying from the summer breeze passing through. I looked up at the sunlight in the blue sky, closed my eyes, and felt God's presence.
As I began to sway with the tree, I felt the lyrics and melody in my heart and sang, "I'm drifting away... I'm drifting away".
As I put the song to acoustic guitar right there, the song poured out in just a few minutes.
When Rob returned from his tour, he heard it, and said, let's get this on in the studio. So we did.
Along with two other tunes with similar feel.
I put the song on youtube just to put it out there, and placed home video taken at the ocean in New Hampshire. My version of drifting away in the water.

Lyrics
There's a whisper in the wind
And it's calling out to me
As my body stays,
My mind floats away
Like a bird soaring free
I'm flying high in the wind
Where I can be free
Float away in the sky
Setting my soul free
I'm drifting away
I'm drifting away
I'm drifting away
I'm drifting away
I can see me from above
There's a light that blankets me
A peaceful energy
Shining from within
I can feel eternity
I'm flying high in the wind
Where I can be free
Float away in the sky
Setting my soul free
I'm drifting away
I'm drifting away
I'm drifting away
I'm drifting away
