Story Behind The Song

So many people feel lost, are lost, lonely, homeless, and unseen. Go into any city and you will see people laying on benches, broken and living in the darkness, walked over, walked around, ignored, and simply unseen. People. These are people. Humans. Fellow humans. Yet, so many just look past them or are disgusted by them. If I didn't have family to stay with during this awful economy, I too would be homeless. Many people are suffering now more than ever. Many people feel unseen, even when they do have a home, or career, friends or family. But for those who are treated as if they are nothing, who calls them by name? I pray before I write, and often can not write unless God allows the song to just pour out. I had prayed about all these things I was seeing. All the pain, the feeling of being unseen in this world. That lonliness inside of feeling like no one truly knows you. God impressed me to write. Without realizing the magnitude of this statement when I wrote this song, I wrote "All the stars are falling, Gabriel calls me by name, heaven or hell or highwater, I'll be back home once again". In the bible, there is only one angel not only mentioned by name on a few occasions, but this angel also CALLS people by name. It was Gabriel who gave Joseph and Mary the name for Jesus. As a Christian, this wasn't something that ever stood out to me. When I wrote this song, I then took out my bible to look into Gabriel, because I had mentioned Gabriel by name and did not want to put something in a song that might not be truth. When I had seen how Gabriel was linked to calling people by name, naming them, I just broke down and cried. Only God can do that. Only God can have me write something, I have not yet learned. I pray this song holds onto your heart, changes minds, and helps us each be more accountable to "seeing" the humans that surround us as human. To ask their names. To take the time to learn their stories, and to lift them up and help them feel seen.

Song Description

Emotional, raw, and a lesson for human kind. Powerful, yet hopeful. People who feel unseen, the homeless, the lonely, are often not spoken to or treated with kindness. Who calls the homeless by name? Imagine never hearing your name spoken to you, never being seen. God sees us all. He calls us by name.

Ooooh, oooh
Ooooh oooh oooh oooh oooh

Nameless streets, I walk alone
In sleepless nights, I carry on
Forgotten boxes on the ground
Broken lights hide us, from empty crowds

All the stars are fallin' yeah
Gabriel calls me by name, oh
Heaven or hell or high water
I'll be
Back home once again,
Oh once again

Ooh ooh ooh, ohhhh
Ohh ohh ohh ohh ohhh

I forget sometimes about the life I've lived
Remembering hurts so I just deny it
Nobody ever calls me by name
Nobody is, who I became

All the stars are fallin'
Gabriel calls me by name,
Heaven or hell or high water
I'll be
Back home once again,
Oh once again

And If you see me God, you-,
Know I don't care about my-
Self, I just want to come home
Help me find my way
Please just call my name
Call my name and take me home

All the stars are fallin'
Gabriel calls me by name, Yeah
Heaven or hell or high water
I'll be
Back home when you say my name
Please call my name

Call my name
Oh,
Call my, call, my
Call my name
Call my, call, my,
Call my name
Call, my, call my
Call my name
