Story Behind The Song
I actually wrote this song at of the most spectacular natural hot springs spots in Arizona--called Eden Hot Springs....and it was the Jewish Holiday of Yom Kippur...I was fasting, sitting by the natural cold spring and contemplating the past year and what i would like to let go of...It was a divinely guided song, finding owl feathers (who are the messenger bird and quite mystical creatures) and heart-shaped clouds...it is deeply introspective and uplifting....the song ends with a fabulous "reach the peace within" improv breakdown...one of my favorite moments in this song...
Song Description
A girl, finding herself at a turning point in her life, metaphorically sitting at the water's edge, to make the choice whether to sink or swim...through the song she discovers her inner knowing, and guidance and finds the strength to "Never Give Up!"
Lot's of nature imagery and a peaceful, calm mood lead to her finding the Peace Within...

Lyrics
Here I am at the water's edge again
Will I choose to sink or swim Toss my worries away, ask forgiveness this day
Now on a clean slate
I begin . . . . .
To see me truly
When I close my eyes it's like my hands can see
New senses awaken inside of me
Connect to a higher source, keeps me on my higher course
Chorus
Heart-shaped clouds and great horned owls tell me, "Never give up!"
I'm on my path now, ain't no looking back, no
Full is my cup, full is my cup
Find the cold spring, let the waters wash in
And cleanse me from all sin To reach the peace within, reach the peace within
Inner knowing, always growing, lessons showing themselves in time
Inner knowing, always growing, lessons showing themselves in time
Chorus
Heart-shaped clouds and great horned owls tell me, "Never give up!"
I'm on my path now, ain't no looking back, no
Full is my cup, full is my cup
Here I am at the water's edge, edge again
Will I choose to sink or swim?
I begin to reach the peace within
I begin to reach the peace within
I begin to reach the peace within I
begin to reach the peace within
Peace within . . . . . . . . On a clean slate I begin
To reach the, reach the peace within . . . . . . . . . . . . . Reach the peace, reach the peace within . . . . .
