Story Behind The Song
On Christmas Eve, about ten years ago, my daughter found a bullfrog in the driveway, apparently frozen and dead. She brought it in the house to find a shoebox and bury it. While she was searching for the box, the frog came to life. It lived in an aquarium on our kitchen counter until our pond thawed out in April. Many years later, my daughter is grown and gone with kids of her own, and I look out on the pond and wonder if our dear frog is still alive. Then I start missing my daughter and write this song for her.

Lyrics
Bullfrog sing your lonely song
If I knew the words I'd sing along
Sitting on the edge of your solemn bank
Ain't nobody in the world to thank
The moon's hanging high
The wind brushes by
Bullfrog sinks down in the pond
I think I just might swim along
Life's so lonely sad and blue
Since the world took me away from you
My whole life's so far away
Let me sit by your pond, please let me stay
The moon's hanging high
The wind brushes by
Bullfrog sinks down in the pond
I think I'll sing his sad, sad song.
