The Cloud

Story Behind The Song

I wrote this song from first hand experience with chronic depression in my family. It is a very tough subject matter, but I believe this song offers hope, and it is a favorite of many of my fans.

Song Description

The wife is looking through old photo albums and reflecting on happy times in their relationship over the years and wishing it could be that way again. Depression has crept in and clouded the love that used to shine so bright.

Lyrics

Love sweet love
Can it push the clouds away
Love sweet love
Make the sun shine bright today
Put your heart in front of your head, take back your life
Climb out of the dark,
I'm standing in the light

Really nice song. I liked listening to it. Really good voice for this type of song.

It's well done under every aspect, from production to arrangement, from performance to songwriting.

The thing that really sells a song is the vocal and the vocal on this song is excellent...a beautiful voice. Nice use of backing vocals too. Strong lyric. The playing is really tight. Lovely clean recording and mastering.

This record is like a bar room country lullaby- nice execution and arrangement well played out. It has makes potential - Trident review of 4/5......good work. Love the vocals.....

Its a well arranged composition musically combining a clear and unified subject matter that has the potential to resonate with a wide variety of people.

I love the beautiful vocals and backing vocals as well - the steel guitar really gives the song a haunting feeling which I think works well with the lyrics.

nice tune, pretty voice. heartfelt lyrics. i love the lap steel. Overall a nice song, like the harmonies and pianos too. The song is quite lovely, nothing more too say. Nice work

Nice vocals, beautifully sung. The instrumentation is very pretty. Arrangement is well done. Definitely sounds like Country. I think love songs are those that can be very marketable, especially if you can capture an unusual way to say something. Keep on writing! I enjoyed the music. Easy to listen to.

I enjoyed this song

I like your voice, and I think the instrumentation was well done.

nice traditional country vibe, like the pedal, like the piano work/entry. vocal works for traditional country...i actually like the lack of rhyme in places, and the rain on our parade title, though the lyrics need some polish

Nice feel. Smooth slide guitar. Liked it.

Nice sound on the voice and feel. I cash imagine this being played in a country club late at night and going down very well.

Nice subtle harmony to go with the simple melody and a quality piece of music, most enjoyable song.

This is a great song with wonderful vocals!

The melody is pretty. Vocal is very good. Pedal steel guitar is awesome. Recording is broadcast quality. Arrangement is very good. The song effectively creates a mood of depression and loss.

Enjoyed the song. catchy chorus.
