Story Behind The Song
I overheard a conversation in a cafe - that's ofte the way it starts - and this came into my mind. I got the lyrics and the melody in almost one shot. I took the idea to my friend and mentor Alfred Gertler and he loved it. He made a suggestion for the bridge, just one little change - called it the Ray Charles turnaround - and there it was.
feb 2009 - this year, tony Quarrington and tony Laviola did a new arrangement and we added to the album.

Lyrics
Mornings, I put the coffee pot on
Then I realize that he's gone
That's when, I hang my head down and I cry
I wake up, and rub the sleep from my eyes
But I, know he's said his bye byes,
that's when I hang my head down and I cry .....
Bridge:
And I'm lying awake through the night
And I'm dreamin I;m holding him tight
But it's just a dream, and I want to screeam
'Cause I know he won't be back
And I('m pacin them floors every day
And I'm wishing he'd come back to stay
But I'm wastin time, he's no longer mine, and I know he's gone for good....
