Story Behind The Song
I was in NY trying to make it in music when my manager at the time introduced me to Gary Haas, and he had this song that he needed lyrics for. I wrote lyrics and we recorded it over I think 2 sessions. Since I sang like crap when I was 20, I re-recorded the vocals last year. This song was originally to be for me but as I don't want to be in the spotlight anymore, I'd rather see some other young talent snap it up.
Song Description
About a young version of myself moving to New York even though I was told it wasn't safe for me, or that the chances I would make it were too slim. It's about me being sick of hearing that I should go to school and get a "real job". It's about independance, determination, and believing in yourself.

Lyrics
These times ain't always easy
when you're all alone
while I'm learning life the hard way
you're saying please come home
I know sometimes you worry
that I may not be right
You've gotta let me go
I won't give up the fight
If you really think that I
am just gonna give in
you don't know me like you thought you did, like you thought you did
If you really don't believe
that I'm gonna win
you don't know me like you thought you did, like you thought you did
Sometimes I wanna cry
wanna know I'll get by
but I don't want your help
don't need it anyway
chorus
I don't care what you say
I won't give up on myself
I won't abandon my plans
so stop kidding yourself
I won't quit for you, no
or anyone else oh no
I'll make it through
I'm not listening to you
I've given up on you
chorus 2x
