Story Behind The Song
A beautiful Thursday in May, one of the first really SUMMER days, I was sitting outside with my guitar and picking away when the melody came to me.
I had to work in an hour or so, but was seriously contemplating calling in sick to enjoy the sunshine. Instead, I quickly recorded the song into my phone and went to work.
Song Description
This song is about the importance of having time to yourself to get out and appreciate life, and recharge your batteries. We get so stressed out in life thinking that everything is so important that we forget the simple pleasures like a beautiful early summer day.

Lyrics
Just another sunny Tuesday in May
don't think I'll make it to work today
my cell's off, my door's locked
don't want to see anybody's face, not today
and it's a lovely day to be alive
and it's a lovely way to quiet my mind
want to feel the fun warm on my skin
want to dig my toes into some sand
throw my guitar in my car
and drive nowhere in particular
and it's a lovely day to be alive
and it's a lovely way to quiet my mind
Sometimes the world just moves so fast
you feel you're losing your grip
once in a while you need to turn down the noise
and fade into the background, into the background
it's a lovely day
and it's a lovely day to be alive
and it's a lovely way to quiet my mind
and it's a lovely day to be alive
and it's a lovely way to quiet my mind
it's a lovely day
