Story Behind The Song
Along the trail is a town named Leadville which has the highest elevation of any town in the US. It was originally named ?Cloud City? and at one time a Palace of Ice was built there. A site to behold, constructed of 5,000 tons of ice, with towers 90 feet tall. It covered 5 acres of land and housed enormous ice sculptures in its many rooms. Electric colored lights made the palace glow like a magical fairyland in the clouds.
