Voice from Sacred Wilderness

Story Behind The Song

Laura Sullivan grew up in Northern California near the Pacific Crest Trail and the Mt. Lassen foothills. This is where a man known as ?Ishi? of the Yahi-Yana Indians used to live. The last survivor of a tribe that was wiped out by settlers, he wandered the Lassen foothills alone, mourning for his lost loved ones and singing songs for their souls.
