The Pickleball Song K

Story Behind The Song

I went out to California on a trip to see my family and made it into a little musical tour. One of the things I wanted to do was play pickleball with my sister, Fran. We played nearly every day I was out there. I was inspired to write this song while staying in her guest room. Special thanks to Jonah Atkinson who created the exciting track. Can you hear the pickleball hitting the paddle in the percussion spot at the end of the bridge? I brought my paddle and ball into the studio. He recorded the sound and put it into his computer so we could get real pickleball sounds in the song. I love it!

Lyrics

Well I get out to the courts about a quarter to nine

Paddle in my hand and I'm feelin' fine.

Stretchin' out my legs and I reach for the sky

Hollerin' "Let's pickle" when the sun starts to shine.

Well my buddies show up with their gear in tow

Yellow balls a bouncin' and we warm up slow

Now we're revvin' up so let's take it back

Winding up my swing and I give it a whack!

CHORUS ONE:

Let's pickle! Let's pickle!

We're young and we're old and we're fit.

Let's pickle! Let's pickle!

I just wanna pickle a bit!

Let's pickle! Let's pickle!

I wanna hear that ball crack!

Anyway you stack it I wanna whack it

I.....I got a pickle attack!

Now this games goes really fast, you got no time to think
You gotta be ready to run up and hit a dink
Zip back to the baseline before bounce number two
Keep this rally goin'; yeah you know it's good for you!

And there's a place on the court that you better steer clear!
Keep out of the kitchen; Got no food for you in here.
Some hit it crazy, make that yellow ball spin
Some come for fun and some are itchin' to win.

CHORUS TWO:
Let's pickle! Let's pickle!
A lob'll set you up for a kill.
Let's pickle! Let's pickle!
Whew! I got it back! What a thrill!
Let's pickle! Let's pickle!
I wanna hear that ball crack!
Any way you stack it, I just wanna whack it
I.....I got a pickle attack!

Some play singles; some play doubles and some'll do it all
We're playing in the winter, spring, summer and fall.
Some get out there early; some come after work at night.
Some say I'm addicted and I think they might be right!

BRIDGE: Paddles swingin' and wer're feeling fine
Everybody's laughin' and having a good time! (4 x)

CHORUS THREE:
Let's pickle! Let's pickle!
Does anybody new wanna play?
Let's pickle! Let's pickle!
I could stay out here all day!
Let's pickle! Let's pickle!
I wanna hear that ball crack!
Any way you stack it, I just wanna whack it.
I.....I got a pickle attack.
I.....I got a pickle attack!

Classic rock song with some good instrumental. Nice vocals harmonies on some parts.
