Story Behind The Song
I was contemplating the angst and agony that occurs when loneliness and emptiness take over one's life. I spoke to my sister-in-law (one of my muses) about this feeling and she sent me a brief recording of the start of a song that came to her, focusing on the need to get right with God. It seemed too coincidental that we were both on this "Help me, Lord" path. Next thing you know, this song emerged. My producer, Bill Bentley, and I kept is simple to accentuate the raw emotion and vulnerability that comes with the realization that one has fallen from grace and needs to be welcomed back into the fold.

Lyrics
V1: Help me, Lord Help me, Lord
I'm afraid that I've lost my way
I don't know where to go
All I can do is pray
That you will find me and bring me home
Remind me I'm not alone
V2: Help me, Lord Help me, Lord
I'm adrift on a stormy sea
I'm scared - if you're there
I need you to rescue me
And bring me safely to shore
So I won't be afraid anymore
V3: Help me, Lord Help me, Lord
Be my Shepherd and my Guide
So I can be set free
From the burden of this pride
And find my way back to
A life divine and worthy of you
Help me, Lord Help me, Lord
Help me, Lord Help me, Lord
Help me, Lord Help me, Lord
Help me, Lord
