Story Behind The Song
I was in San Francisco and noticed so many vagrants sleeping on the street - with no blankets or pillows or anything really except the clothes they had on. People, including me, were just passing by them as if it were normal (which I guess it is on that street). The subject came up in the studio and we speculated "What if it were Jesus we are ignoring?" I said "This is going to be a song." Next thing you know, my producer, Bill Bentley, took the bare bones of my song and created a stunning track that perfectly cradled my homeless song.

Lyrics
V1: I saw him on the street and nearly passed him by
But something so unique about him caught my eye
Maybe the beard - or piercing eyes
Suddenly it dawned on me inside
Cho: So many souls out there on their own
In ragged clothes - afraid and alone
Invisible to most - known only to a few
Homeless Jesus - is it really you?
V2: Do you know the reason why some of us are blessed
With lots of food to eat and a place where we can rest
While others struggle just to be safe and barely fed
Not sure one moment to the next what lies ahead
Cho:
Bridge: Now every day on the street I see him
Maybe one day we'll meet - until then
I swear he sees right through to my heart
I want to tell him, "I know who you are."
V3: Ever since that day life hasn't been the same
Things that were important fill me with shame
Like what I'm going to wear - what kind of car I drive
Now each day I pray we find a way
To keep these souls alive
