Story Behind The Song
Margaret Rose Mullins was her name and I called her Rosie. She inherited a lot from me and some from her father. (I apologized for the nose and she forgave me.) She was this interesting blend of innocence and world-weary. What many remember about her is the light that shone in her eyes when she started talking about something she was passionate about (which were many things). I wrote this when she was young and I think Bill Bentley captured the joy she emanated with his arrangement.

Lyrics
Little Rosie
Named her Margaret, called her Rosie
With a nose she got from me
Eyes that sparkle with hidden laughter
Chasing after her destiny
The life she is living is hers alone to live
But the joy she is giving no one else could ever give
Little Margaret, little Rosie
When I first saw her, she made the tears fall
She made my fears all fade away
She brightens up my darkest hours
With hugs and flowers and games to play
She's a child, she's a lady
With sunshine in her soul
Half woman, half baby
On her way to becoming whole
Little Margaret, little Rosie
When she leaves me, oh how I miss her
I long to kiss her just once more
I can't imagine my life without her
It's all about her, I just adore
Little Margaret, little Rosie
With a nose she could only get from me
Little Margaret. little Rosie
And she shows me how to be three
