Story Behind The Song
Writing songs can conjure up some surprises and I was never so surprised as I was when it became clear what direction this song was taking. Originally, I thought it would be more of a relationship kind of song but it turned into a playful, everyday-Mom kind of song. My producer and I had such great fun recording this one and I can easily see it becoming a featured song in one of the musicals my brother and I co-write. I couldn't get the chorus out of my head and hope you won't be able to either!

Lyrics
V1: The day began so calmly - no demands on my time
Just sipping coffee as if the day were mine
Then I started thinking of all I had to do
First on the list - gotta motivate you
Cho: We gotta get a move on - so you better put your shoes on
We gotta get a move on - put your shoes on now
No time to linger - I'm wagging my finger
We gotta get a move on - put your shoes on, boy
V2: Stop off at the doctor's - drop the pills off at home
You're coming with me- I'm not doing this alone
Shop for clothes, shop for food
Drop kids off at daycare - drop parents off too
Cho:
Bridge: Just another day in the life of a stay-at-home wife
Who never actually gets to stay home
No need to prove how I'm always on the move
See for yourself - come on, get in the groove
V3: Take the dog to the vet - don't forget her special treat
Remember to stop and get ourselves something to eat
Make it home just in time to let repairmen in
To fix whatever needs that fixing again.
