Story Behind The Song
Originally, I wrote the verses of this song when my daughter, Rosie, was a little girl. When I brought it out as part of my musical memoirs project, I added the chorus about being lonely for her, having survived her by so many years at that point. This was a difficult song for me to sing but I felt it was important to include in the memoirs.

Lyrics
Chorus:
Oh, Rosie, I'm lonely
I'm so lonely for you
If you can hear me, please stay near me
Rosie, I'm lonely for you
The sunlight on your hair has given it a golden hue
I'm glad I could be there to share this time with you
You've got your father's smile and you've got your father's eyes
But you have my spirit in you
I hope it never dies
Chorus
The firelight on your skin has given it a special glow
I love the skin you're in - it warms my own skin so
Behind your fragile air there lies a mystery
I trust the strength in you
I love the frailty
Chorus
The moonlight on your face takes me back to another time
I've memorized each trace of me that I can find
Though we may be apart, I still feel close to you
You'll always be a part of everything I do.
